Patient Information and Our Scanning Procedure
Mobile Dental Imaging MDI proudly serves the entire Southern California region, offering the flexibility to conduct scans at locations convenient to you, whether it's your dentist's office, residence, or workplace. Our commitment to convenience and customer satisfaction streamlines what can otherwise be a lengthy, time-consuming, and uncertain process. Picture the ease of a Mobile Dental CBCT Scan performed in our cutting-edge mobile facility, right in your own driveway!
From the beginning to the end, your entire appointment typically spans a mere 15 to 30 minutes. The scan itself is efficiently completed in just 18 to 28 seconds. We employ automatic dose exposure technology, which intelligently adjusts the radiation dosage based on the patient's age and size. As a result, the radiation exposure for this type of scan is minimal, akin to spending six days outdoors or merely 1/10 of a chest CT scan.
It's important to note that the scan exclusively encompasses your head and neck, allowing you to remain fully clothed. However, all metallic items, including dentures, eyeglasses, and jewelry, must be removed from your head and neck.
It's crucial to emphasize that Mobile Dental CBCT Scans are non-invasive. During the scan, you are comfortably seated or standing, while the equipment rotates around your head for a brief 10 to 20 seconds. Rest assured, this is not a tunnel machine, minimizing concerns related to claustrophobia.
Please be aware that if you are pregnant, you should not undergo this scan.
Payment for the scans is expected at the time of service. The patient is responsible for payment unless otherwise directed by your healthcare provider. We accept all major credit and debit cards. Additionally, a cancellation fee applies unless a 24-hour notice is provided. Mobile 3D Imaging operates as a fee-for-service imaging company and does not have agreements with any insurance providers. This approach enables us to maintain cost-effective pricing for our scans.
Following the scan, the images will be promptly transmitted to your healthcare provider for evaluation. If you wish to retain a copy for your personal records, kindly make the request at the time of the scan.
